Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't see the answer to your question below, please e-mail me at jochan@chibitown.com

1. How do I order something?

Seeing as how I am a poor little self-taught web designer with a simple little fanart site, there are a few things I can't really have.  Like an automatic shopping cart, for instance.  Please bear with my primitive "e-mail me your order" system.

So, to order, please list the items you would like in an e-mail to jochan@chibitown.com.  I will write you back with the grand total and the shipping charges for that order.

One final note: If you are under 18, PLEASE get your parents' permission before ordering :-)

2. What payment methods do you accept?

Paypal is my preferred payment method.  Paypal payments can be sent to payments@chibitown.com (I am Paypal verified).  If you would prefer to send a check or money order, please let me know, and I will provide the information you need.

3. What do you charge for shipping and handling?

As most of my items are lightweight, I prefer to ship by standard US mail to save you money.  I never charge more than the cost of postage and supplies – no extra "handling" charges here!  For most shipments of smaller items, shipping is only $1 - $2.  I also always do my best to insure your items arrive in the exact state they left – undamaged.

For larger and heavier shipments that are unable to be shipped by standard US mail, I prefer to use Priority Mail, which starts at $3.85.

If there is another shipping method you would prefer I use (including UPS, FedEx, Express Mail, etc.), or if you would like insurance or another special feature, just let me know, and I should be able to accommodate you.

4. Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I do.  Please just remember that the shipping charges will be greater for obvious reasons.

5. Why can't I find these items in any store?

Quite simply, because these are not commercially or mass-produced items made be a large company. These are handmade fanart items made by me out of love of these shows and all things cute. Essentially, I decided to make cute bookmarks and stickies and things because I wanted them and couldn't find them anywhere, and then I decided to make them available to anyone else who wanted more unique items as well.

While handmade, I take great care to ensure that these items are of high quality, trying many different combinations of materials and methods to make, for example, a bookmark that looks just as nice and is just as sturdy and durable - if not more so - as one you would buy in a store.

This is not my profession. This is just a hobby that I really enjoy, and I hope you enjoy the results :-).

6.  What do the bookmarks look like?

The bookmarks are approximately 2.5" by 7" on cardstock, in a plastic bookmark sleeve, with a tassel on top.

7.  What do the window stickies look like?

The window stickies are non-permanent stickers that work on car or home windows, or really any smooth flat surface you'd want to stick them to (I have one on my car window, and another on my refrigerator).  They are black outlines of the characters and are transparent, so they won't block your vision or look tacky ;-).

8. What do the keychains look like?

Keychains are round, hard plastic, approximately 2.5" wide, and double-sided.  Every keychain has the character on one side (as seen on this website), and their name on a matching background on the back.

9.  When will you have <insert character's name here>?

I have a list of requested characters that I am currently working through.  However, the more votes a particular character or item gets, the more quickly it'll be available as it gets bumped to the head of the line.

In other words, if you really REALLY are dying for a FFX-2 Yuna bookmark, or a stickie of Cloud and Sephiroth fighting, or a T-shirt with the four chibi bishounen wolves from Wolf's Rain on it, or if you have any other really cool ideas - please let me know.  You might get your wish :-).

10. Do you accept commissions?

Yes, I do.  If it's a request simply for a chibi that you would like on a bookmark or another product that I offer, it doesn't cost any more than ones I already have up on the site.  The only caveat is that I reserve the right to sell more copies of the design in the future :-).

Commissions for specific and unique designs – even of characters I've already drawn – are also possible (a character in an alternative outfit, for example).  Price would depend on the amount of work involved and the exact item requested.  Please contact me for more details.

Commissions do not have to be for chibis, either.  I started out by drawing normal-size characters, and I still draw in that style as well.

I reserve the right to accept commissions at my own discretion, including factors such as available time, requested content, etc.

PLEASE NOTE:  I do not do "ecchi," "hentai," or nude pictures.  Please don't request them.  I like this to be a family-friendly site as well, so please don't request chibis from "R-rated"/ultra-violent type anime. Thank you for your understanding.

All characters are copyright their original creators and owners.  I didn't create them - I just like drawing cute parodies of them and hand-making cute items for people :-).
